Meetings and Mashups at Gamescom’26
Nordic All Star Booth at Gamescom.
CDG-Booster was present at this year’s Gamescom in Cologne, Germany. Gamescom, still one of the biggest game industry events in the world, saw the Interreg Central Baltic project co-organising the Nordic All Star Booth in cooperation with NeoGames, the association for the Finnish game industry. This year CDG-Booster brought 26 Accelerator-participating companies from Finland, Sweden and Estonia to showcase their work, pitch their ideas and do some serious networking.
One of the people visiting the Nordic All Star Booth was Finnish MEP Henna Virkkunen, the Executive Vice-President of the European Commission for Technological Sovereignty, Security and Democracy, and European Commissioner for Digital and Frontier Technologies. With Virkkunen, we had a great discussion about game development in the Nordics, where the industry generates 8 billion EUR in annual revenue and employs around 20,000 people in Finland alone. We also spoke about the upcoming industry regulations and the Nordic game development community.
We cheer for all the CDG-Booster companies that made great connections and initiated negotiations that will hopefully lead to successful growth outcomes in the future.
