Piloting AI glasses for startup marketing

Could AI-powered smart glasses be a practical, actually useful tool for entrepreneurs seeking to create social media content faster and more authentically? Markus Juntunen, an entrepreneur from Lahti, set out to answer this question in a two-week pilot with the CDG-Booster project, following attendance at one of the project's Local Meetups. The goal was to explore whether AI-assisted smart glasses could streamline content creation, reduce barriers to capturing spontaneous moments, and make brand storytelling more authentic and efficient. Markus structured the pilot around his daily routine as founder of SINSE JUNE, documenting a mix of planned and unscripted activities that reflect the brand's fusion of esports fashion, streetwear, and a cryptocurrency-driven community.

Testing Content Creation on the Move

Throughout the pilot, Juntunen tested a pair of low-budget smart glasses in daily life, focusing on TikTok, Reels, behind-the-scenes glimpses, and event coverage. The report found the glasses shone brightest in fast-paced, hands-free filming where capturing raw, unfiltered moments beats polished studio shots.

The lightweight glasses include an 8 MP Sony camera, Wi-Fi connectivity, built-in microphones, and ChatGPT-powered AI assistance. Voice controls and quick wireless file transfer allowed content to move rapidly from filming to editing and publishing.

Juntunen emphasised the liberating feeling of filming hands-free, especially in lively settings where bulky camera gear would get in the way. He also praised the glasses for their portability, battery life, and knack for capturing authentic point-of-view footage.

The pilot uncovered a few drawbacks. Vertical video was not supported, audio sometimes lacked punch, and the device cannot yet replace a full professional multi-camera setup. Even so, the end verdict was positive: smart glasses open exciting new possibilities for nimble content creation and wearable AI-powered storytelling.
